I spoke to the Doctors office Friday and was told that Hamilton General was still operating under code orange.... "Say what"? .... only emergency or pressing operations at this time.
Both the Jurivinsky and St. Joseph's experienced broken water pipes and flooding of the operating rooms and recovery as well as the chemo room at the Jurivinski. All this due to the record cold spell we experienced.
So to amuse myself I have taken up squirrel watching. It seems these little buggers forgot to store food for the winter and run the "spruce highway" in my back yard in search of soft hearted humans to feed them.
Since Pat won't let me get a dog... that I wouldn't be able to walk anyway... I have taken to being entertained and trained by my nutty buddy's.
We have grey's, black's and little brown squirrels. I haven't seen the browns since the one and only snow day we have had but still see the grey and black ones every day.....
Here is the grey determined to out wait me
The little brown one before the snow came.
I used to think that the greys were the dominant ones but since I have started feeding them I have found the blacks to be real aggressive and to chase the grey away when there is food out.
I have also found out by reading up on squirrels that they are not monogamous and that the female will have sex up to 8 times a day with different males .... Pat says that in my next life I'll come back as a squirrel
